Pecan Pumpkin Pie

3 eggs
1 cup pumpkin
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
2/3 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup sugar
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup pecan halves
1, 9-inch pie shell

Stir together 1 slightly beaten egg, pumpkin, 1/3 cup sugar, and pie spice. Spread over bottom of pie shell. Combine 2 beaten eggs, corn syrup, 1/2 cup sugar, butter and vanilla. Stir in nuts. Spoon over pumpkin mixture. Bake in moderate oven 350 for 50 minutes or until filling is set. (Needs 7 minutes extra)
