Chocolate Mint Chip Meringue Cookies

2 egg whites
1 pinch salt
1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup chopped nuts

Grease a cookie sheet. Cover with brown paper. Beat egg whites with cream of tartar until stiff. Add salt & vanilla. Gradually add sugar. Continue beating until glossy. Fold in nuts & chips.  Drop on sheet. Bake at 275 degrees for 30 min. These do not raise. Make the size you want them to be.
