Chocolate Filled Cupcakes

3/4 cup flour
3/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup cocoa
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup shortening
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup chopped nuts

Cheese Topping:
1 8 oz. package cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1/2 cup chocolate chips

Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and mix. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk. Fill paper lined muffin tins about 1/2 full. Spoon about a Tablespoon of cheese topping over batter in each cup. Sprinkle nuts over cheese and bake at 350 degrees until tops are golden brown, about 30 min. Cool
completely in pans. Frost with chocolate frosting. 

Cheese Topping: Mix sugar and cheese thoroughly. Add salt and
egg. Then stir in chocolate chips.
