2 cups All Bran cereal
2 cups buttermilk
2 teaspoons baking soda, dissolve in 1 Tbls. water
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons molasses
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup dates
1 3/4 cups flour

Pour milk over all bran and let stand for 10 minutes. 

Add baking soda that was dissolved in water. Stir into bran and stir thoroughly. 

Add salt, molasses, sugar, dates and flour. Mix thoroughly.  Fill 4 well greased 1 pound tin cans slightly over 1/2 full (pumpkin cans work well).  Bake 50 minutes at 350. Remove from cans immediately and let cool on wire rack.
